Valley Irrigation is set to release a center pivot with precision irrigation capabilities that is designed for smaller and irregularly shaped fields

Pivot supplier Valley Irrigation is helping farmers manage their water resources with a portfolio of pivots, including the Valley Small Field Center Pivot, which will be available in time for the 2026 growing season in North America.

The Valley Small Field Center Pivot is designed for farms up to 60 acres and irregularly shaped fields, which can be challenging to irrigate properly, Nicolas Scates, senior product manager for Valmont Industries (Valley Irrigation’s parent company), told AgTechNavigator. Farmers can also increase the irrigation radius by equipping this pivot with overhangs, available in 5.8 and 8.7 meters.

This new product joins Valley’s portfolio of pivots, including the 7000 and 8000 Series Center Pivot, which are designed for larger farm operations.

The Valley Small Field Center Pivot can also be digitally monitored and controlled when paired with the Valley Icon panel and the company’s AgSense 365 digital platform, the company shared in a press release. Nearly all of Valley’s pivots (80%) “come standardly equipped with AgSense technology built-in,” Troy Long, VP of hardware product at Valmont Industries, told AgTechNavigator.

“We have variable rate technology, where you can buy each individual sprinkler nozzle, apply water, turn on, [and] turn off. And so, you efficiently use water throughout the field, and then we have the ability to monitor pressure and use that to control the pump,” Long added.

The AgSense platform serves as a central platform for tracking water usage and equipment, which can be helpful as farmers expand operations, Long noted.

“As farms consolidate and corporations and/or growers get more fields in different locations, ... they can integrate all this because it is using IoT technology. They are able to bring all of their fields together into one platform and monitor and control their entire operation either from their mobile phone or from a desktop application,” Long elaborated.

The Valley Small Field Center Pivot will be available in the first quarter of 2026 through authorized dealers in North America. The product will also be available in Australia, Africa, the Middle East, and New Zealand, as the pivot company works to develop a similar product for the South American market.

Improving water efficiency with precision irrigation

The pivot release comes as many farmers are trying to save money, as growers struggle with tight operating margins given rising machine and input prices. Valley is helping farmers save on their expenses through digital capabilities that manage irrigation resources more efficiently, Long said.

Farmers can save between 20-30% on the power input of pumping water “by using pressure feedback and only pumping what is needed,” Long explained. Additionally, the pivot supplier is helping troubleshoot problems, so dealers or service providers can get ag machinery up and running faster, he added.

“We have also been working on technology to diagnose in-field problems. So, we have a product called machine diagnostics that allows one to ... troubleshoot problems in the field,” Long said.
